When we tell customers their memory files are 'stored forever,' they often ask: 'How does it stay online?' or 'What happens to the chip in twenty years?'
The keepsakes contain passive NFC (Near Field Communication) chips. They contain no batteries, no power supply, and no active circuitry. They remain completely inert until they enter the small electromagnetic field emitted by your smartphone. The phone's NFC loop induces a tiny electric current in the keepsake's copper antenna, powering the chip to transmit its unique ID. This passive architecture means the hardware lifespan is virtually unlimited, rated for over 100,000 read/write cycles.
To protect the microchip from water, impacts, and daily wear, we encapsulate it in a dual-layer polymer core. It is waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof. Even if the brass coin gets wet or dropped on concrete, the memory chip remains fully functional.
On the cloud side, we host the media files in geo-replicated object storage pools. We generate decentralized identifiers that map each physical tag to its media payload, ensuring that even if storage nodes migrate, your family laughter remains accessible forever.
